"It often comes down to how one's own voice is perceived. In my lessons, I emphasize becoming aware of one's own instrument—the body—and the possibility of expressing oneself vocally not only through singing but also in everyday life."
Margarita (Vocal Coach and Singing Instructor) • She is said to be a musician through and through. Even from a very early age, her interest in music was so great that she was practically always engaged with it. And if you want to master an instrument, there’s one thing above all else you have to do: practice and stick with it.
Around the age of five, Margarita realized she wanted to become a singer. She sang with her mother. Her very first instrument, however, was the violin—until she lost interest in it. Taking singing and piano lessons would have been her greatest wish, but before that could happen, she took a few detours along the way. In the meantime, she plays the double bass and sings in the school choir. She’s also active in the school band.
"I always tried to keep playing until it was good enough and I finally got goosebumps myself."
And it’s all worth it. In eighth grade, she looks out at the amazed faces of her classmates. A moment when she accompanies herself on the guitar and performs none other than "Hallelujah." For the first time, she can show—and truly understand—what she’s been working toward for years. Valuable. Self-efficacy. These are the terms that first come to mind and take root in her mind. "It feels more valuable to be praised not for just anything, but for something you’ve achieved on your own and that brings you joy," says Margarita.
"It is important that singing not be viewed merely as a skill to be mastered. Rather, it is a means of expression."
As the daughter of a large family from a working-class background, after graduating from high school she was initially firmly convinced that making money was important but impossible through music. This belief led to four years during which music became merely a side activity.
At some point, she begins to imagine her future life, and the next step is clear—studying voice. Once she’s made up her mind, she goes all in. For a year, Margarita prepares for the entrance exam. It’s not easy; she studies practically around the clock. Piano, singing, and music theory fill every free minute she has outside of her 40-hour-a-week job.
Margarita is studying popular music with a major in voice at the University of Music, Drama, and Media in Hanover. Stylistically, she is influenced by Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Incubus, Billy Talent, Chris Cornell, and other artists who embrace emotions in a positively uninhibited way—musically expressing what is worth saying.
"Singing is also a great outlet for self-expression."
In her own music, she doesn't hold back her feelings; she tries to convey to the listener that every emotion is valid and deserves its place and its moment.
You can hear her voice in the band "Margarita & The Boys," a grunge-alternative rock band, and in her solo project, Margarita Stellar, where she takes on a softer sound, somewhat ethereal and fascinated by the stars.

As a vocal coach, Margarita works with her students to discover what suits them musically and what they hope to achieve with their voices. She does so with empathy and a genuine love for teaching and learning.
