Marissa - Vocal coach and singing teacher

Vocal Coach

Marissa

"Of course I pay attention to technique, but soulful singing can sometimes get lost in the process. That's why I encourage my students to always keep the feeling while singing – and I show them how easy that is."

At age three, Marissa is sitting (Vocal coach and singing teacher) under the table, singing a song for the family visitors—still a little shy, but very excited. The table: her shield against stage fright.

"I was so nervous that I only dared to sing under the table."

A short time later, she sings "Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen," and her father solemnly captures the moment on video. These are her earliest childhood memories of singing.

Marissa is a millennial; she was born in 2000 and grew up in Hamburg, where she still lives today.

She is a musician through and through. Singing has always been a part of her life, and she took up the violin at age eight. She played it throughout her childhood and even performed in an orchestra during her teenage years.

Starting at age 13, she also began training her first instrument: her singing voice. At first, she took private lessons; later, until she was 19, she attended the Hamburg Youth Music School. She was in the advanced class for voice—the program designed to provide extra support for those who wish to pursue a career in singing.

She's no stranger to competitions, either. She takes part in orchestra competitions and sings in "Jugend musiziert.".

At the BIMM Institute in Hamburg, she is continuing her studies with a focus on vocals. As intense as her stage fright was back then, today she’s simply "positively excited," as she puts it. On the side, she’s started singing regularly at weddings and large corporate events.

"I'm more excited than anything else—I'm just motivated to help people have a good time."

But that's not all. Marissa gives it her all—100 %—and does so with complete ease. You wouldn't guess how far she's already come with her music. Thanks to Instagram, she meets a songwriter who puts her in touch with two producers and DJs.

Together with Ian Storm and David Atsman, she delivers a fantastic cover of "Waves" (originally by Mr. Probz, made famous by Robin Schulz’s remix). This track already has more than six and a half million streams on Spotify and shouldn’t be her last cover project. Next up is "Night Changes," originally by One Direction.

More projects are already in the works. Marissa wants to write her own songs.

"I love traveling the world and finding inspiration for music around every corner and in every conversation."

Marissa has been a part of the CK Voice Academy since April 2023.

With respect and understanding, Marissa analyzes your singing style, identifies your strengths, and nurtures them with sensitivity. A positive atmosphere and that extra dose of motivation are always part of her CK Voice Lessons. It’s important to her that you stay committed and take a good feeling from every singing lesson back into your everyday life.

"My youngest student is 11 and my oldest is over forty; they come from all over the world. This diversity also enriches my life greatly."

Her chest voice is her first step; riffs and runs are her specialty.
